Broken Arrow

2008
C++ (opengl, FMOD)

For 'Broken Arrow' Germaine Koh and Ian Verchere came to me to research and build a solution for a radio frequency aware project. It is interesting to focus for a moment on the enormity of spectrum allocation. View the Canadian spectrum allocation chart HERE. Germaine and Ian specified particular frequencies of interest, relating to terrestrial activity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cordless phones, radio, RFID).
Interfacing with a Spectran analyzer afforded data that was visualized and sonified using OpenGL and FMOD The movement of frequency names was achieved using an ant colony algorithm adapted from my 2006 project Phormicoid, and later used in Ants 2009.
